IS THIS RIGHT FOR US?
I'm a published wedding & portrait photographer + videographer with over five years and 110 weddings under my belt - while I traditionally capture weddings via my established photography & videography company where I offer a full client experience that includes a signature editorial editing style and concierge client service, I recognized a gap in the wedding industry where some couples truly desire good photography and nothing more. Thus, Koty & Co. was born - through this condensed wedding photography experience, I craft beautiful wedding photos and hand them over - the rest is up to you! By excluding the industry standard engagement session, photography timeline coordination, and over 20 hours of photo editing on the back end, I'm able to scale this service down and offer you my talent in it's purest, most affordable form.
You and your beloved are seeking a straightforward wedding photography experience that delivers classically elegant photos and desire the ability to sort through and edit your own images. In addition:
You are familiar with a photo editing program such as Lightroom Classic or are open to hiring a professional editor to finish your images later if you're seeking a specific aesthetic
You get that this is exclusively a photography service - we are there to capture your wedding day in a professional capacity and won't be editing your images (...unless you add on our editing package!)
Your wedding falls on a Friday or Sunday OR is on a Saturday within the next 90 days
We're So Down!
Modern, industry-standard wedding photography entails much more than just photography - it's an experience that combines consultations, intricate timeline planning, an engagement session, album design, and 20+ hours of photo editing following a wedding in additional to expensive image hosting and time consuming vendor walk-thru's. This experience skims that all down to a professional photographer simply photographing your wedding day and providing you with the unedited images. It's pure professional wedding photography, truly nothing more!
At the end of your wedding night, I will hand your memory card(s) to a pre-determined custodian of your choosing - so the photos are in your possession same-day!
Fair concern! The good news is that I'm a professional photographer which means I shoot with professional grade cameras that feature dual memory card support - this is fancy speak for explaining that there is a copy of your memory card being recorded simultaneously for every single photo captured that I keep possession of. For a fee, I can upload and send you the exact same images from your lost memory card up to six months after your wedding!
Photo editing is actually it's own recognized profession outside of photography so I'm always amused that photographers are required to be good at BOTH - people typically underestimate how daunting of a task this can be. So I understand that it is often much more difficult than it would seem to achieve a particular look to your images if you don't have professional photography or editing experience. I offer an editing add-on for $800.00 where I will edit up to 500 of your wedding images (available up to six months after your wedding day). Once you book this additional editing service, I will deliver your edited images within 45 days in a stunning, cohesive gallery.
You should understand a few things - mostly that the modern wedding photography that you see online is a culmination of a lot of skills aside from actual pure photography. It's posing, lighting, and the technical mechanics of shooting professional imagery in addition to timeline coordination and direction of large groups of people on a wedding day. It requires much more skill and experience than simply clicking a button on the camera. This experience will feature the classic attention to detail around posing, lighting, and composition of images + one hour of posed portraits for bridal party, family, and couples portraits. However, I won't create or organize timelines or be responsible for you and your bridal party's keeping on track with a timeline, nor will I serve in place of a proper wedding planner/coordinator that directs people to where they need to be.
I also think that you should understand unedited photos are not vivid, but that does not mean they are not technically sound. RAW images are designed to be processed/edited so sometimes images can feel dull or flat when stacked against the trending wedding photos of Instagram or Pinterest - this means the details of highlights and shadows are appropriately preserved for the backend editing process. I hope that couples considering this approach to photography can understand that photo editing is half of the magic of truly beautiful wedding photos and that they reasonably expect to edit their images or hire a professional to do so.
This one's specifically for my fellow professionals/hobby photographer's that know a little somethin' somethin' - welcome! I capture all weddings on Canon's mirrorless R6 Mk II with a full suite of native RF lenses. I typically carry dual harness and shoot with two bodies recording in RAW format with dual memory card slots enabled. I capture all images in manual mode and typically expose to the meter or a slight stop above. Aperture favors 2.8 for most scenarios, with that bumping up (down) to 4.0+ for larger groups. My RAW images are generally pretty cool on white balance. Happy to answer any other questions you may have here during a consultation!

Dakotah has a way about her that makes you feel like you've been friends forever. My husband, who is typically more reserved and camera shy, thanked me for choosing her because he was able to feel so relaxed with her in front of the camera.

I personally love the camera but my husband needs and wants a little direction. Dakotah delivers! I can honestly say I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day.
